On Saturday, September 21st, 2024, the core members of BHA (minus Payton, who wasn’t at school yet) ran a “pre-season” 5k to get back into the swing of things. Taking place at Angel’s Stadium, we drove down in the early morning, eager to compete. After a long line to register and an even longer line to get to the start, all of us were ready to get out there and compete. The stadium was brutal to race in. Narrow walkways between seats made it dangerous to go full speed, steep and uneven stairs proved grueling on the glutes and quads, and obstacles requiring you to duck low and effectively crawl up and down inclines undoubtedly put a toll on us. However, we all persisted and ended up placing relatively high overall. With over 4000 racers total, were proud to share the following results: Jack McCool 10th place, Alex Salkin 27th place, Steven Coons 49th place, Tim Keller 91st place, Ari Moulitsas 110th place. With an incredible performance after taking a summer to relax, we’re excited to begin training again for our half marathon in January. Until then, we hope to see you at practice!
